Do you have a baby name that you were not allowed to use?

Either because your partner did not agree or you had a baby of the opposite sex? If so can you share it here please? I like the name Joel but my husband hated it and would not allow me to name our son Joel. I said no to Xavier which is one of his favorites. If we had a daughter we were going to name her Ayla Nicole. What were yours?

I wanted to name our dd Amber Leigh, but hubby didn't like the name Amber b/c it reminded him of some girl he didn't like in grade school (wtf?)





Bill is out for a boy b/c of SIL's ex fiance (even though William is my Granddad's and Uncle's name...i think we'll use Liam instead if we have a 2nd boy...our first son has to be a Jr....hubby *has* to have a Jr, LOL)

Reply:I was going to name my son Nolan! When he was born, we loved the name, but it just didn't suit him, so we went with Owen instead. Nolan is still a favorite! Report Abuse

Reply:I LOVED Aaliyah Alize' (ala-zay) but everybody thought i was on something. I also liked Cynica, Jessele, Constance, Geniuses, Sole' and a lot of the off the wall names that you dont hear every day. We finally agreed on Desiree Elizabeth. For my son I wanted Victor, Xavier, Diego, Dario, but we have a victor and xavier already and his dad hated Diego and dario. We ended up calling him Isaiah Alexander.
Reply:Im not allowed to use any names that are unique or names that you may hear alot of today, such as Hunter, Mason, Teagon, ect. Me and my hubby finally decided on the name Zackary and he told his mom and she decided that she didnt like that name so now we have to come up with something else.
Reply:considering im 15, and im not planning on being pregnant for a few years. i dont have the partner problem, but there are names in our family that i love but cant use. Emily is my favourite girls name, along with Camilla, and i have a niece named Emily and a cousin named Camilla. so there go those two :(
Reply:I like Michelle (as a MN) but my hubby dosen't, I also LOVE Alyssa...but there are THREE Alyssas in our families already! That's too many.


I also like Soleil for a girl, but he thinke I'm crazy, and that it's "too wacky".





Oh, and Rachel...he just does not like it :(





BUT...he likes Mason, and our last name is Johnson...so I vetoed that one since Mason Johnson sounds rediculous.
Reply:If our daughter had been a boy she would have been either Evan Stanley or Nathan Stanley. My husband picked both names. I wanted Nicolai or Elias. This time around, I wanted Matilda or Felix, but he said no. We are still debating names.

He didn't like any of those only Angel and i didn't want that. We finally settled on Brooklyn Marie for our baby girl : )
Reply:He didn't want me to name our baby. period. His family had a tradition where the father did. I split with him and named my son Devon which I know he would have hated because he'd choosen Russell.
Reply:I want to name this baby Lucy and my husband absolutley will not go for it. I have no other names in mind.
