for the past 30 years most Filipinos are given English (american) or Bilical names. Not many people give their children Spanish first names.

Bayani is a cool name as it means hero.

Reply:any american (english) and spanish name will be acceptable... but nowadays almost anything is acceptable... biblical names are also good to consider, %26amp; it is not uncommon to have 2 or 3 first names
Reply:For boy try to mix and match this names- juan, miguel, carlos, pablo, jose, antonio, gabriel.

For girls - celina, anotonia, maria cristina, clarita, clara, norma, justina, juana, margarita, juliana etc.
Reply:try www.babynames.com it includes a search by the ethnic origin of a name.
Reply:How about Spanish baby names? There are over 1,200 Spanish baby names on http://www.babyhold.com/list/Spanish_Bab...
Reply:Anything is acceptable. From my experience, people in the Philippines nowadays have weird names. Weird in the sense that either the spelling is wrong to make it unique or the name is really weird. I have a friend whose name is Jayne from instead of Jane, Joyce instead of Joy. Another is Hans Zuriel, June Mirielle and Kryzl Debonny. But that is uncommon compared to names having roots to saints and popular persons like John, Christian or Michael. Boy names can have suffixes such as -bert for Robert, Albert and Gilbert. For girls names usually have Marie or Maria, Christine, Joy, Jane, Love or Nicole and suffixes are usually -elle/-ille for Chriselle, Jocelle, Camille or Marielle.

Because of the Philippines having been relations with people from other countries, names of Filipinos can be varied. You can have Japanese-sounding names or German-sounding names but the parents are Filipinos. I think there is much creativity in Filipino Names that the only clue that you are a Filipino is your surname or your nickname.
