Here's a list of names I'm considering giving my baby. I don't know the gender yet. I was hoping you could help me out by telling me what associations you have with each (or some of) these names. If you don't like a name simply because you knew somebody with that name and you hated them, I don't need to know that. I'm interested in whether you think these names sound old, young, smart, funny, cocky, creative, etc. I'd love to know what you think of all of them, but feel free to only comment on the names that you have strong associations with. Thanks so much!
Jonah
Zoe
Naomi
Leo
Simon
Ari
Samson
Luna
Alma
Isobel
Emerson
Micah
Byron
Mona
Briar
Russell
What associations do you have with these baby names?
Jonah - Reminds me of the New Zealand rugby player - a really big guy, had to have a kidney transplant or something. A tough guy, not overly attractive but still handsome.
Zoe - This is a nice name, somehow reminds me of a pretty little blonde girl from a TV show.
Naomi - This sounds like an Indian name, sort of exotic. It's nice.
Leo - Like a brave, good-looking boy, somehow connected to the Zodiac symbol of the lion, a fearless, kind person.
Simon - A plain, simple, ordinary name to me. It sounds cool, too!
Ari - Hmm... this is a cool name, sounds foreign, in a way. Not sure how.
Samson - This is a really cool name, reminds me of a monster truck on a game I used to play. It sounds like someone with this name would be an intelligent, well-mannered, handsome boy. Another name I like is Spencer.
Luna - Wow, this is a really nice name! Like Luna (latin, methinks) for Moon. A very pretty name, this is probably my favourite name for a baby girl.
Alma - ...i'm not sure what to think of this name. Sounds African or something, quite a nice one, too.
Isobel - This is a nice name, kind of makes be think of a kind, polite little girl for some reason.
Emerson - Um... this is a different name, but it is unique and cool. Actually, it's not strange, kinda catchy, in fact. I like this one!
Micah - Reminds me of that male singer with the high voice. It's a good name, nice when pronounced "Mee-Ka."
Byron - This is a really cool name, makes me think of a tough, strong boy with a very kind and well mannered personality. Also sounds like 'Baron.'
Mona - Hey, this is a cool name too! It makes me think of a nice girl with shoulder-length brown hair and a very pretty face. I am not sure why. This would be a really nice name if it went with Luna as well, like if they were sisters or something.
Briar - Reminds me of the plant. A good name, but it seems that they would be an anti-social person, I don't know why.
Russell - This is a cool name, like a sporty sort of guy who does well in school too.
Well, my favourites are:
Samson, Luna, Emerson, Byron and Mona.
They are all really good names, and I hope one you choose to use one of them!
Good luck with your baby!
